The handover team from SHIRBRIG, Major General Mosgaard (COMSHIRBRIG), Chief Warrant Officer Larsen (Finance Controller) and Sergeant 1st class Klint (Quartermaster) met with the receiving team from the museum at 1100 hours and the ceremony took about half an hour. During the ceremony Mr. Ole Frantzen, Managing Director for the museum, and Mr. Jens Ole Christensen, museum inspector, received the Battle Flag, the Command Sword, a SHIRBRIG medal (No. 100) and a selection of SHIRBRIG badges and patches.

COMSHIRBRIG with the Command Sword
The Command Sword was originally donated by the Danish Minister of Defence, Mr. Hans Haekkerup, to the first COMSHIRBRIG, Brigadier General Saermark-Thomsen during the handover ceremony to the next COMSHIRBRIG. The Brigadier General instantly decided to hand the sword on to SHIRBRIG and it has been the SHIRBRIG Command Sword ever since that day.
