Change of Command 2008

On the 13th of August 2008 the SHIRBRIG Change of Command Ceremony took place on Hoevelte Barracks to hand over command of SHIRBRIG from the 5th to the 6th COMSHIRBRIG.

Three Brigadier Generals performed the main ceremony: Brigade General Kochanowski, commander of SHIRBRIG (2006 - 2008), the Austrian Brigadier General Safranmüller, Chairman of the Steering Committee and the Danish Brigadier General Lund, the new commander of SHIRBRIG.

The main ceremoni was divided in two parts: First the signing of the handover documents from outgoing COM to incoming COM, wittnessed by the Chairman followed by the handover of the SHIRBRIG battle flag to the new COM.

The ceremony was wittnessed by many distinguished guest from the Diplomatic Corps, military attachés, representatives from ministries of defence and from the Danish Defence Command. The ceremony was followed by a small reception.
